What is the right ambassador reward? 3 tips!

The basis of ambassadorship, of course, must be intrinsic motivation. In addition, Ambassadors in Employbrand can earn points for each ambassador effort. Think of sharing a post on social media, submitting a post idea or suggesting a referral candidate. What you can do with these points is entirely up to you and your organization. With a number of Employbrand clients, we discussed what works well. Here are three valuable tips!

  1. Think beyond financial rewards.

Studies show that financial rewards as gifts have less impact than experiences or tangible products. The gross/net effect of a financial reward is often disappointing for employees. And besides, the amount often ends up in the household jar, where it then goes "unnoticed" without a lasting memory. In contrast, an unforgettable experience or a tangible gift makes much more of an impression and also leads to word-of-mouth advertising!

  1. Tune your rewards to your target audience.

It may seem obvious, but it is crucial to tailor your gifts to your target audience. Consider the preferences of an IT professional-what keeps them busy? The latest tech gadgets? Or do you have colleagues who are highly socially engaged? Then choose donations to charity, for example.

  1. Give away rewards periodically.

You don't have to offer all the products in the Employbrand gift shop year-round. In fact, temporary gifts work great. Why? By doing so, you create new communication moments with your ambassadors all the time, for example with announcements such as "Available this month...". Moreover, you can respond to seasonal trends. In winter, for example, you can offer board games, while in summer you opt for picnic baskets or Bluetooth speakers."
